I found someone to join me in Puerto Rico...one of my best friends from high school, Ann!!  It's funny how it worked out...she was going to go to Hawaii w/ her family and then was planning to stay a few extra days on her own, which happened to fall on the same weekend that I'd be in Puerto Rico.  So we were like...hmm...does it make sense for us to both be sitting on different islands by ourselves, on the exact same days??  So she decided to come...yay!!  I'm so excited.  It'll be so fun to hang out with her and catch up, since she lives in LA and we're both crazy busy all the time so we never get to talk!

So here are some pictures from the past couple months.  I went to Shakespeare in the Park at the beginning of the summer w/ some of my church girls...we saw Romeo and Juliet.  Juliet was a really bad actress but it was fun nonetheless.  We had to wait in line for about 5 hours!!  The stage was so beautiful though, and it was a fun experience because I've always wanted to go since I first heard about it a couple years ago.  Anyone wanna do Midsummer Night's Dream in a couple weeks?

A bunch of us randomly took the Staten Island Ferry one Saturday afternoon.  I never really had the desire to ride it since it seems so touristy but it was so nice being on the ferry!  We had an awesome view of the Statue of Liberty as well as the downtown Manhattan skyline.  I would highly recommend it!  It's free...a poor man's cruise...hehe :)  (When you pay as much as I do for a NYC apt...you gotta take advantage of free things to do in the city!)

We fed the homeless a few weeks ago through Bowery Missions...that's us inside the food truck.  We went to a nearby park and distributed food to the homeless and less fortunate.  Good times!  Some of the other pictures below are from: Megan and Tony's wedding (congrats!!), the W hotel in Times Square, Serendipity, and Stanton Social.

I didn't get to take pictures because I didn't want to get my camera confiscated, but I finally had the opportunity to watch Wicked on Broadway!!  It was so good...and I didn't even have to pay for the tickets (they were worth like $120...pretty decent seats) because my friend who was in town for a work event does event planning for her company and they had one extra ticket last minute!  (Thanks again Mellie~!)

So I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go to Orlando for a week for training, and then I fly straight to Puerto Rico.  I've never been to Florida before so I'm excited, I'm gonna hit up Disneyworld with one of my co-worker friends from Chicago.  I'll be gone for about a week and a half...back on Monday, 8/20.  Make sure I don't miss out on too much while I'm gone!! :)

Oh yeah, my camera broke the other day out of the blue.  As most of you know, I carry my camera around with me almost all the time, like a freakin tourist.  Well I pulled it out of my purse the other day and the viewfinder was broken!!  I think it cracked, so it's all white and messed up.  Perfect timing, right?  So I went out and bought a new camera yesterday...the Canon SD 800IS.  Oh well...I'm sad that my old one broke, but it gives me an excuse to upgrade my camera, from a 3.2 megapixel to a 7.1!  My old school elph served me well the past few years...R.I.P..*sniff sniff* (I'll get over you very soon tho..hehe)

Ok I really need to sleep.  I know, I'm crazy...I gotta wake up in an hour and a half to leave for the airport!

So...I found out that I get to go to Puerto Rico for work~!  I'm on a project for Gucci so I need to go to the store that they opened out there this past year.  Anyone want to join me??  I'm looking for a travel buddy!  I was thinking about staying a couple extra days and making it a vacation.  I only have to work on Saturday night for a few hours and the rest of the time I can play!

It would be so much more fun to go with friends but if I end up having to go by myself, I think it'll still be a nice, relaxing trip.  SO...if you're free...I'll be there starting Aug. 17th!   You can crash in my hotel...2 nights free!

Central Park on Memorial Day, LA [the Getty Villa, Anna Yoon and Eric Kim's wedding at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, the Grove, Urth Cafe], Movies at Bryant Park, Jones Beach, Roosevelt Island:

I also checked out the Cloisters a couple days ago (museum and gardens - it's part of the Met but it's way up near the upper end of Manhattan).  It's so nice there~!  Really beautiful and serene, just walking around outside...we also stopped by the cafe to cool down with some iced coffee.  I would love to go back to that cafe for a meal, it's a cute place!

Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July~!  I went to a bbq at my friend Myung's house in Palisades Park, NJ.  I ate alllll day, non-stop...we had burgers, ribs, chicken, pork chops, ice cream, smores...awesome.  Good thing I went running on Friday to make room for all that food!  I ran from my place to the GW bridge (about 4-5 miles I think).  That's probably the most I've run at one time...and I was surprisingly pretty energetic and didn't pass out!  I think what kept me going was the AMAZING view of the sun setting on the Hudson river.  If you've never seen it, I highly recommend it.  If you wanna join me, let me know~!  Running along the Hudson is way nicer than Central Park.

I posted some pix that are long overdue...here are some that I took when I went to DC a few weeks ago.  I wanted to see Michelle but she was on the verge of giving birth to little Isabella, so I wasn't able to meet up w/ her.  But I definitely want to go see her baby soon~!  (soooo adorable from the videos and pix!)  Cherry blossoms were almost all gone but I did catch some!  I also had the opportunity to meet up w/ Dan Chu (college friend) and my old co-worker Lauren who moved out to DC around the time that I moved to NY.

Below are more pix from 1) a random spring day in NYC when the weather could not have been more perfect, 2) a coffeehouse night that Good News Church put on...our small group did a step performance to God is So Good (if you bribe me enough I may give you the link to the video I uploaded on to youtube..hehe) and a couple of the boys in our group sang Jack Johnson songs, 3) hanging out w/ Janet, and my friend Mellie (who was visiting from LA and was staying w/ Greg) at the infamous 3rd Floor Cafe in Ktown, and 4) a launch party and post party for the premiere of the Korean American movie "West 32nd" starring John Cho (Herald and Kumar) and Grace Park.(Battlestar Galactica -- she's in one of the pix below) at the Tribeca Film Festival.  Also at the premiere, I randomly ran into some old friends visiting from LA (Roland, Andrew Oh, Arnold Chun) and found out that a short that Andrew wrote and directed (w/ Arnold's help) got accepted into the film festival as well!  I was so proud of him...I've known Andrew since college and it's awesome to see him come this far.

I have a lot more pix to post but I'll have to post them next time!  Btw...I'm going to LA June 14-19~!  Let's play! :)

*Birthday shout-out to Janet...happy 25th birthday babe~!  Thanks for inspiring me to make the bold move out to NYC...it's been a blast experiencing it with you!  I'll miss you when you're in Geneva this summer (sporting that new Hermes scarf of yours..hehe)*

I had a pretty interesting weekend...Saturday morning I actually forced my lazy booty out of bed and went running at Central Park w/ my friend Brian.  We ran the 1.5 mile loop but hopefully we'll be able to graduate to the 3 mile loop soon and work our way up.  It's nice that the weather is finally starting to warm up.  The weather is so tricky and unpredictable here in NYC.

Anyways, so after running I went over to meet my friend Robin for our first drum lesson!  I met him at the studio he works at, located in SoHo...the studio was actually built inside a loft owned by this couple that owns a record label.  I've never seen a place like this in NYC...the elevator door opens up and I step into a place like 10 times bigger than mine.  I can't believe someone LIVES here, it's like the kind of NYC apt they show in movies (they never seem to show small cramped apts like mine...movies are so unrealistic~!)  So after I got over my apt-envy, we had our lesson and it was challenging but fun!  I'm really grateful for the opportunity to learn how to play the drums (thanks Robin~!!).  Some of you know that it's always been sort of a dream of mine to learn ever since I picked up a few beats back in early high school.  Hopefully I'll actually become decent enough to join a praise band one of these days...(not the Origins praise band though, they're all professionals and I'm too intimidated!)

The rest of Saturday, I went to small group (Good News Church pastor visited and shared his vision about the GNC Manhattan church plant...exciting stuff!), then watched UCLA kick Kansas' butt (go Bruins~!) at a bar in Union Square w/ a bunch of other crazy UCLA alumni living in NYC, ate at a restaurant on St. Mark's, went to a lounge.

Today...went to Origins (the church I've been attending on Sundays), then took some pix near the Hudson River, then met some friends at Le Parker Meridian Hotel.  The hotel itself is really nice and posh, but there's this hole-in-the-wall burger restaurant called Burger Joint.  So after we finish our yummy burgers, I notice someone signing the wall right in front of me (celebrities tagged all over the walls throughout the years).  As she turned around and walked out, I did a double take and realized that it was Cameron Diaz~!  Since we were done eating, we followed her out and she was standing in the hotel lobby by herself.  I normally don't have the guts to say anything to celebrities when I see them, but this time I actually went up to her and talked to her.  I introduced myself and said that I was a big fan...she's super cool and down to earth.  We chatted for a couple mins...she had just finished eating brunch at Norma's inside the hotel.  I asked her if she would mind taking a picture but she politely declined, saying that she doesn't like to do pictures because once you take one, you have to take them with everyone.  So sorry guys, don't have anything to show for my brief encounter w/ Cameron but if you guys don't believe me, you can ask Robin, Jason (Pickens), Quyen or Y...they were all there!

At night, Eunice was car sitting for our friend Alex so her, Wayne and I took a trip to Costco in Queens (we're deprived...there's no Costco in Manhattan).  We made it just before closing...let's just say the whole journey was quite an adventure :)  Afterwards, we went to Grimaldi's (famous pizza place in Brooklyn) and then went to Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.  My first time at both and they lived up to the hype!

Ok sorry this was super long (again) but thanks for reading...or at least skimming :)  I'll leave you w/ some pictures I took since my last post:
